I used to greatly dislike all things winter.
It seemed like death.
loss of color
loss of leaves
loss of warmth
loss of freedom
However, one day I heard someone speak about the growth that goes on under the surface during winter.
preparation for all things new
preparation for growth
preparation for buds that will become blossoms
preparation of all within to come forth
I now have a great appreciation for winter and all the growth and preparation that is coming from within.
He has made everything beautiful in its time.He has also set eternity in the human heart;yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NIV)

DeleteYes, thank you for the reminder, we up North where the weather is colder and from what I understand winter is longer. So, thank you so much for this reminder.
DeleteAmen Amy! God sure knew what he was doing when he gave us seasons! Spring is so much more appreciated after a time of winter...and yes winter is necessary...and for our good! (:>) Love, Linda
ReplyDeleteIt definitely makes me appreciate spring so much more. Oh, the greatness of His creations!
DeleteOh, that is good! I've never heard that before. (Especially on the day that I posted about Daylight Savings time coming up so quickly) Instead of longing for spring, I need to focus on my winter growth. :) Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kelly!
