After an extended break from blogging, I am back. I needed to take the time off and re-evaluate
the reasons why I blog. I also needed to
know for certain that I was supposed to be writing in a public forum. So, I guess you could say that I fasted from
blogging and from reading blogs.
Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 (NIV)
God took this time to instill his love for me. I was shown how much I enjoy writing and how
I love to be creative. He also clearly showed
me that when I first began blogging it was because I was seeking to be filled
with praise. I wanted and still want more than anything for my
heart to be filled with thanks. My
desire is to learn the same contentment that filled the Apostle Paul. So that no matter the circumstances that are
placed before me, I could look around and be thankful.
I am going to be completely honest and tell you that last
year was a hard year for our entire family.
We emotionally went to places that we had never gone before. While I personally would like to hope we do
not have to revisit those emotions again, I am thankful that we went through
everything as a family. It has been a
refining experience and I am thankful that we come to this New Year with a
sense of renewal.
With these feelings of fresh and new…came a new look for the
blog. My beautiful friend, Courtney,
just started a design business: A Faithfulness Told Design. I have long admired her blog and the clean
look of her blog’s design. So, I was excited
to have the opportunity to be her first client.
I love the style she has created for me.
She is so easy to work with and so amazing to know. Thank you, Courtney!

I am so stinking happy to see you :) You have been on my heart so much lately. I almost emailed you yesterday, but that would require sitting down for a second and you know how that goes :)You did have a hard year.
ReplyDeleteI know some of the trials you faced this past year and I also know how the devil likes to come after us in those moments when we are tired and worn down.
Anyway, I love you, I love the new blog design, and I really love that you are back!
Hannah,
DeleteThank you so much for your encouragement. It means the world to me. I truly appreciate you and your friendship! I love you and your fabulous family.

So loved working with you friend! And I REALLY love this post explaining why you blog. I too have re-evaluated my purpose for blogging and have come to the conclusion that if I'm doing it for any other reason than to glorify the Lord than I'm through :).
ReplyDeleteLove your sweet heart.
Thank you! I truly am so thankful for friends like you that always seek to glorify God through your words and actions. You shine!

YES! "Reunited and it feels so gooooood!" We need your voice out here and what a beautiful way to get it out there. GREAT design. I, for one, am glad to have you back in the 'hood!
ReplyDeleteI will now have that song stuck in my head all day! :) Thank you for always being a cheerleader in my life. You are such an encouragement to me. Now, if you would only move to my neighborhood so that we could have coffee regularly, life would be perfection. Get to packing, m'kay?!

Hi Amy...I have missed you! I am not blogging as much as I used to...but I still read a lot of blogs and try to keep up with my friends even if I don't post as often. Facebook is so easy and quick, and I use it as a way to know how to pray for my family, friends and church family...and I try to be an encourager there.
ReplyDeleteLife has its ups and downs...and we all face trials for sure. Our family has had so many trials over the years and one of my daughters has had some very hard trials recently, and so it affects us all as a family...but my heart goes out to her as her mother who loves her so very much.
We all have to give grace to others the same way God gives his grace to us...in all of our imperfectness! (:>) I have absolutely no idea what you have been through this past year...I am just sharing what I know from our experiences honey.
Anyway...I am glad you are back...and Momma Linda will be praying for you. Love you!
Love you too Mrs. Linda! You are such an encouragement to me.
